If a couple can survive a 9 degree engagement session (with a windchill of what felt like negative five thousand) then I am a firm believer they can make it through anything. Michigan has experienced such a bizarre winter this year with seasonably warm temperatures and laughable snowfall. When Jacqui and I discussed a winter engagement session, we had no idea that Michigan would be such a pain this year! Thankfully, a small snowfall graced our state on Valentine's Day weekend and while it was bitter cold outside, we decided to brave the weather and go for it! Jacqui and Rob are such a fun-loving, up for anything couple. I loved their adventurous spirit and positive outlook (even when all of our faces started to go completely numb)! I will say that I am very excited to be photographing their much warmer wedding this summer. Wait until you see how gorgeous Jacqui was during this session-- she is going to be one stunner of a bride! Here are a few of my favorites from our time together!
I have had some of the most adventurous couples for 2016 who have taken full advantage of the beauty a Michigan winter offers. These two sweethearts braved the cold for their engagement session, trekking through some of my very favorite hidden gem locations in Kalamazoo. I am so excited for this couple's April wedding, partially because the bride Jessica has the most gorgeous color palette and my pal Spring Sweet will be designing her wedding florals, but also because groom Dana is so obviously in love with his girl. And that makes wedding day my very favorite! Here are a few of my favorites from our time together!
