Wes & Kate’s wedding was extra special for me because I’ve known the groom almost as long as I’ve known my husband! Wes was one of the first people I met in Kalamazoo and my husband grew up with him in church, so getting to document his wedding to the sweetest girl, Kate was such an honor! As if the white wedding barn wasn’t beautiful enough, this venue has taken extra care to add rustic charm around every corner. The field of soybeans was the most gorgeous backdrop for the ceremony and we got the most beautiful sunset that evening! Soft purples and lavenders made up the florals and groom Wes surprised his bride with a wedding ring upgrade during their first look (men, take note!). He also hand carved a jewelry box, their wedding cake knife and card box not to mention he wrote a SONG for Kate that was performed by a friend during the ceremony. Talk about a romantic groom, it was so sweet to witness it all! We absolutely loved working with this special couple and hope you enjoy some of my favorites from their wedding day!

Ashlie and Matt’s wedding day was so dreamy, despite the rainy weather outside. We love couples that put the emphasis on their marriage and their ceremony, and this couple had the bigger picture in mind…. but it certainly did NOT hurt that Jen from Modern Day Floral pulled off a stunning reception for them! In the final hours, the whole set up had to be moved indoors because of rain in the forecast but it was drop dead gorgeous inside. Their day ended in the sweetest way with all the guests singing some hymns as the evening came to a close. The day was wonderful from start to finish, and Ashlie was one of the most beautiful brides yet! We can’t wait for you to see some of our favorites, below! Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Kuiper!
