I love each and every one of my engagement sessions for different reasons, but this one definitely stood out. It was a frigid day on the lake, and Alex & Megan braved the cold to get some amazing photos before winter hit this beach town. I always recommend dressing to the nines for engagement sessions, and Megan's blush pink skirt billowing in the wind is pretty breathtaking and makes my case for me: dressing up is always the right choice!

When you look at these photos, it is easy to get swept up in the timeless romance they evoke, but don't be mistaken-- Alex and Megan are super silly, playful and tons of fun. Tara and Eric were so fun to work with! A more laid back couple you won't find, and they proved as much by trudging through fields with grass up to our waists. I loved watching them interact and laugh together; I always can tell the couples who are really in love by how much fun they have together. I am so excited for Mattie & Nick's wedding next year, and spending time with them for their sunset engagement was just the beginning of all the fun we are going to have.  Not only are Mattie and Nick incredibly sweet souls, their wedding is going to be seriously gorgeous. Why am I so sure? Only because Mattie is a talented wedding and event planner in West Michigan at Spark Wildflower events. I am beyond flattered that she chose to trust me with their big day, but I can't wait to spend even more time capturing beautiful images for them!  Here are some of my favorites from our time together!
